PRIMARY NEWS

FROM THE HEAD OF PRIMARY

Acting Head of Primary, Mr Craig Angel

It’s hard to believe that we have already reached the halfway mark of the school calendar.  We thank our Grammar parent community for their support and partnership, and our Grammar staff for their impact on learning and life at Grammar for our students.

As always it was wonderful to celebrate our school’s Foundation Day today. Whilst our school continues to grow and flourish, days like our Foundation Day and other traditional events provide us with the opportunity to reflect and be reminded of our roots and what makes Grammar such a great place to be.  It was especially rewarding to congratulate long-standing staff recognised, as well as the Lifelong Learners who have moved from Prep to Year 12 at Grammar.

We wish you well for a restful and fulfilling holiday with your families and look forward to seeing you back at school for Term 3 on Tuesday, 15 July.

Academic Reports

A reminder that parents are able to access student Academic Reports in Parent Lounge, through their GECO login.

Comparative marks will be available Week 1 Term 3 on the Year Level GECO page.

Staff News for Term 3

A special thank you to Mrs Sally Woolman who has taught 1SP for Semester One.  She has fitted in perfectly at Grammar and we are very grateful for the outstanding job she has done with 1SP. We welcome Mrs Stephanie Parbery back for the commencement of Term 3.

Congratulations to Mrs Jessica Richards on the wonderful job she has done as Acting Dean of Primary P-2 for the final six weeks of term.  Mrs Rachelle Brutnell will return in Term 3.

Thank you to Mrs Deb Batchelor who has been covering Mr Rob Cordiner for Term 2. Mrs Batchelor has shown her professionalism and flexibility by moving from 5SP in Term 1 to 3RC in Term 2.  We welcome Mr Cordiner back in Term 3.

Thank you to Mrs Elisha Curry who has been teaching on 1JR.  Mrs Curry has replaced Mrs Jessica seamlessly, working well with students and parents.  Mrs Richards will be moving back to 1JR from Term 3.

We farewell Mrs Heather Foster from the Learning Enrichment Team this week.  Mrs Foster has been a valued member of the team and we are grateful for her dedicated contribution to the Primary School.  We wish Mrs Foster all the best for the future.

Student Highlights

Congratulations to Year 4 students Kenny M, Aria B, Izzy R, Willow J and Bianca S on their recent fundraising efforts for the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital.  The girls raised $210 from selling bracelets at school.

They were thrilled to drop off the money, donated in Grammar’s name, to the Wildlife Hospital and were rewarded with a special tour as a thank you for their hard work.
