National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN)
NAPLAN is a literacy and numeracy assessment completed by Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 students each year. NAPLAN assesses the literacy and numeracy skills that students are learning through the school curriculum and allows parents/carers to see how their child is progressing against national proficiency standards.
This year, students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 will complete these assessments in the NAPLAN test window from Wednesday 12 March to Thursday 20 March.

SOAR Opportunities
In Week 9 we proudly host the G.A.T.E.WAYS organisation for workshops to support our Gifted and Talented Education program. Students at Grammar are fortunate enough to have a number of opportunities to access these and other, quality education programs throughout the year.
Thank you to Mrs Gahan, Head of Extended Learning P-10, for her support of this program.
Year 4 Camp
We wish our Year 4 teachers, students and support staff all the best as they head off to camp on Wednesday 19 March. The camp is an important part of the Sunshine Coast Grammar School’s Outdoor Education Programme and it is a vital aspect of students’ life at our school.
The students will be participating in a range of activities that will develop their physical and social skills. Some of the activities the students will take part in are canoeing, archery tag, team-building games, horse riding, leatherwork and raft building.
KIMOCHIS Parent Session
Mr Fraser Landreth (School Psychologist) and Mrs Rachelle Brutnell (Dean of Primary P-2) will be presenting a parent session on Kimochis. This is a social-emotional learning program that supports our students in Prep to Year 2. Developing a common language between home and school can assist in supporting children’s social and emotional development. This presentation is free but requires registration.
Please click the link to register for the Kimochis for Parents on 29 April from 1:30 – 2:30 pm, at the Grammar Function Centre.
Hats
We would like to remind everyone that hats are a compulsory part of our school uniform. Wearing hats is especially important during PE lessons and Sport to ensure our students stay Sun Smart, safe, and able to enjoy their activities. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep our students protected and happy.
