FROM THE PRINCIPAL
We have witnessed a relatively busy week in the media for schools and education. All media outlets have reported on the new information from the eSafety Commissioner claiming that 35 per cent of cyberbullying victims are aged 12 to 13. In the month of International Day of Education, and in the week of Safer Internet Day, we are encouraged to remain vigilant. UNESCO have education, digital innovation, and AI on their radar. Under the theme of International Day of Education 2025, Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation, UNESCO organised a global event to spotlight the dynamic interplay between AI and education: Artificial Intelligence and Education: Challenges and Opportunities The topic, the opportunities and the challenges of protecting children’s data, is being debated across the globe.
In schools, we are hearing stories that online trolls and bullies are in larger numbers, the victims are younger, the victims are resisting less, and we, the adults (particularly the parents), are trying to keep pace and keep our kids safe. Additionally, we are balancing these challenges with the clearly articulated need to prepare our kids for the future of work, a future saturated in AI and emerging technologies. We have an entire school framework that is embedded into all that we do at Sunshine Coast Grammar, including education programs, curriculum units, pastoral leaders and experts and well-promoted and explicit reporting processes. Another piece in the puzzle is empowering our families with the knowledge and in some cases, strength, to withstand the wave of challenges.

International Women's Day Breakfast
This year, we are honoured to collaborate with local designer, Zoe Kratzmann, and support The Forgotten Women. Zoe has generously donated a $2000 gift card to raffle at the breakfast with all proceeds going directly towards The Forgotten Women. The charity is a unique, grassroots housing initiative for homeless women over 55. The project's mission is to put a roof over the heads of as many of these vulnerable women as possible. Through the acquisition of suitable properties, The Forgotten Women project will ensure these women have access to secure, safe and affordable housing options that enable them to age in place.
Time: 6:15 - 8:00 am
Location: Wharf Events, Mooloolaba
Breakfast & Raffle Tickets: via Events Online
